Best time to visit Lake Winipeasaukee
Camping in the Lakes Region is popular during the summer months, and Lake Winnipesaukee is perfect for windsurfing, swimming and sailing. The view of the lake from Mount Major is spectacular and well worth the effort.
At 212 feet deep at it’s deepest point, this beautiful lake sees water temperature rise to the 80’s at the height of summer. During the spring, temperatures are around 30F which is still pretty cool, but this rises as the seasons change.
From July to September the water temperature of Lake Winnepesaukee generally reaches 75 to 80F on average, although of course at night the water cools. Night time temperatures tend to be around 65F but the lake soon heats up again each day making it perfect for a wide range of water sports and swimming.
Take sunscreen during the summer months as reflection of the water can cause sunburn. In winter skiing and ice fishing are popular, while visitors in June can enjoy Motorcycle Week in Laconia.
